Effective September 4, 2026 · DayBraid is a product of Modality Works LLC, Chagrin Falls, Ohio
DayBraid helps parents and caregivers track daily patterns for their neurodivergent or autistic child and generate clear summaries they can export and share with their child's care team on their own terms. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose, because you're trusting us with information about your family and you deserve to actually understand it.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in a few different ways: what you give us directly, what gets created as you use the app, and what's generated automatically as part of running the service.
Account information
- Name and email address
- Password (stored in encrypted form; we never see it in plain text)
Information you log about your child
This is the core of DayBraid, and we want to be specific about it. When you use the Daily Loop, we store what you enter, which may include:
- Sleep, mood, and behavior notes
- Routine and transition events, along with Regulation and Transition scores
- Free-text notes you write about your child's day
- Wins you choose to log
Because this can include information about a child's behavioral, developmental, or health-related patterns, we treat it with extra care. It is never used for advertising, and we do not sell it, rent it, or share it with data brokers under any circumstances.
Information generated by the app
- Pulse summaries (AI-generated daily summaries) and Stories (weekly narrative summaries), which are derived from the logs you enter
- Calendar events you create or connect (including from Google Calendar, if you choose to connect it)
Device and usage information
- Basic device and app information (device type, operating system, app version)
- How you interact with the app, so we can fix bugs and improve the product
- Push notification tokens, so we can send you reminders and updates you've opted into
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate the Daily Loop, generate Pulse and Stories, and surface patterns over time
- Generate clear, organized summaries (including PDF exports) that you can share with your child's care team on your own
- Send you notifications you've opted into (reminders, weekly summaries, and similar)
- Send product updates and pilot communications, if you're part of the pilot program
- Provide customer support when you reach out
- Improve the product, including understanding which features are useful and where the app breaks or confuses people
- Maintain the security and integrity of the service
- Meet legal obligations
We do not use the information you log about your child to train third-party AI models beyond what's needed to generate your own Pulse and Stories summaries within the app.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your information or your child's information. Full stop. Care team professionals (BCBAs, OTs, SLPs, teachers, and others) are not DayBraid users and do not have access to your account or your logged data through the platform. When you generate a summary or PDF, sharing it with your care team is something you do yourself, outside of DayBraid, on your own terms. We share information only in these situations:
With service providers who help us run DayBraid
| Provider | What it does |
| Supabase | Stores your account and log data securely |
| OneSignal | Delivers push notifications you've opted into |
| Kit (formerly ConvertKit) | Sends pilot and product emails you've opted into |
| Stripe | Processes payments on daybraid.com (see Section 5) |
| WeasyPrint | Generates PDF summaries you request |
These providers only receive the information they need to perform their specific function, and they're contractually restricted from using it for anything else.
For legal reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith it's necessary to protect the safety of a child, a user, or the public.
Business transfers
If Modality Works LLC is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'd notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. About information regarding your child
DayBraid is built for parents and caregivers, who are adults. Information about your child is entered by you, not collected directly from your child. Your child does not create an account, log in, or interact with DayBraid themselves. Care team professionals are not DayBraid users and do not have platform access to this information (see Section 3).
You remain in control of this information: you decide what to log, what (if anything) to export and share outside the app, and you can request deletion of your child's information at any time (see Section 8).
5. Payment information
Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe on daybraid.com, outside of the mobile app itself. We do not store your full credit card number on our own servers. Stripe's use of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
6. Pilot program participants
If you're one of our free 90-day pilot families, this section applies to you specifically.
- Pilot participation is free; no payment information is collected until you choose to convert to a paid plan at pilot's end.
- We send biweekly email updates to pilot parents. Care team professionals who've separately signed up for product updates (for example, through our website) may also receive occasional emails about DayBraid; these are general product communications and never include any specific family's logged data. You can unsubscribe from either at any time using the link in the email.
- We may ask for feedback, survey responses, or testimonials. We will never publish a testimonial, quote, or identifying story without your explicit, separate consent.
- Aggregated, de-identified pilot data (for example, "families logged an average of 4 days per week") may be used to understand product performance and inform future development. This never includes your child's specific logged content or any information that identifies your family.
7. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls on our backend, and restricted internal access to identifiable family data. No system is 100% secure, but we treat the sensitivity of this information as a first-order design constraint, not an afterthought.
8. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, so the app can keep surfacing patterns over time. If you delete your account, we delete your account and logged data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain limited information for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
9. Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- Access, export, or correct the information in your account
- Delete individual logs, events, or notes
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of marketing and pilot emails (transactional emails, like password resets, are still sent)
- Turn off push notifications in your device settings
To exercise any of these rights, email us at dan@daybraid.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law (for example, the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority). We'll respond to verified requests within 30 days.
10. Children's privacy
DayBraid is not directed to children and is not intended to be used by children. Our users are parents and caregivers, all adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. If we learn that a child has created an account directly, we will delete it.
11. Cookies and analytics
Our marketing site at daybraid.com may use basic cookies and analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site (for example, which pages get read before someone signs up for the pilot). The DayBraid mobile app itself does not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify pilot and active users by email before the changes take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
